We were delighted to gather together to celebrate new members of our community as part of our annual Welcome Ceremony.
Mr Doyle our Chaplain curated the celebration which was attended by First Year & other new students, their parents and wider family. We were also honoured to have local clergy Canon William Deverall and Fr John, new Parish Priest in our local diocese who shared reflections during the event.
Students from 1 Tory, 1 Rathlin & 1 Fanad represented their forms well, speaking to the group about their experiences of joining secondary school. We are all proud of how well they have settled in! Cairde mentors also pledged their help throughout this year as First Years fully settle in.
The group enjoyed three numbers from our school band, in particular the very apt opening song 'Stand by me'.
Ms Buttimer, HSL hosted tea and coffee for visiting parents to mark the occasion.
Thanks to all for supporting this important ceremony.
